MECHANICSVILLE YOUTH LACROSSE CLUB, INC.


Who are we?

MYLC, Inc. is a member of Southern Maryland Youth Lacrosse Association, Inc. SMYLA (Southern Conference). The Southern Conference includes Prince Georges, North Calvert, South Calvert, Prince Frederick, St. Mary’s, Charles County, North Beach and MYLC. MYLC is affiliated with St. Mary’s County Recreation and Parks.


What are we?

MYLC is a youth lacrosse non-profit organization. We will have four divisions in our club: Bantams (ages 8 and younger), PeeWees (ages 10 and younger), Midgets (ages 12 and younger) and Juniors (ages 14 and younger). All officers, board members and coaches are volunteers in the organization who are dedicated to assisting the youth of northern St. Mary’s county in learning about the sport of lacrosse.


Will we have a regular season? If so, when will it run and when and where will games and practices be?

The lacrosse season runs from mid-March till May. Practices will be held at Chaptico Park between 5 p.m. & 7 p.m.. Exact location, dates, and times to be announced by the coaches. Practice will start late February. Games will be held on Saturdays between 9 a.m. thru 2 p.m./Sundays 12 p.m. thru 5 p.m. Our home field is behind Lettie Dent Elementary School/ 5th District Park in Mechanicsville. Each division will play a series of home and away games; once or twice a weekend.


Does MYLC provide equipment?

Unfortunately, no we do not. Each member must provide: shoulder pads, optional chest protector, arm pads, gloves, helmet & stick. Boys are also required to wear an athletic supporter, colored mouth piece and cleats (football/soccer/lacrosse).


How much is registration?

Registration this year will be One Hundred Dollars ($100.00) per child. This includes the mandatory Recreation and Parks requirement for health insurance for all players on the fields for practices and games, referees, game jerseys, US Lacrosse membership and other expenses. If you have paid to attend any of the clinics ($5.00/per clinic) this will be deducted from the registration.


Once I register my child can he attend other MYLC clinics/registrations?

Yes, we encourage it at no additional charge.
